Brand New Box creates goal-driven web solutions for businesses, NGOs, and independent artists.
Nathan Colgate Clark opened the shop in 2006, developing killer web applications with his custom blend of Ruby on Rails and web standards. Matt Kirkland swam over from Hong Kong in 2007, towing a boatload of design & usability.
Nathan Clark
Nathan can deploy a rails server faster than you can say Jack Robinson. He can also diagram complex database relationships in his sleep, shove web standards down the throats of entire universities, and pour a concrete countertop without breaking a sweat.
After working for a few years in Silicon Valley, Nathan moved to San Diego to launch Brand New Box. His commitment to modern best practices ensures that Brand New Box projects are always fast, lightweight, and easy to work with. Although he frequently claims to be a native Californian, Nathan actually grew up in Kansas.
Matt Kirkland
Matt has the design chops to keep clients happy, and the usability skills to keep things running simply. His background is in the product design world, where he learned to work closely with clients to exceed their design objectives. Matt joined Brand New Box after doing design work in Hong Kong.
He probably reads too much.
